I attended Faith in the 70's.  Principal was Mr. Uecker  and our Pastor was Mr. Kollmeyer, we had Mr. Cattau, Ms. Pringle, and Mrs. Novikoff .  I have such good memories of Faith.  Some of my classmates were....  Chris Hradisky, Nancy Vrolijk, Paula Weiss, Mark Uecker, Ross Sparks - to name a few.

This is a great website!

Hello,
I attended Faith Lutheran from 1997-2001 (2nd grade to 5th grade)
i've been wondering if it would be possible
to receive any kind of student directory. I was
planning on doing a reunion for my class and
was wondering if it would be possible to get
some kind of list of at least there first and last names,
my memories not as great as it used to be.

Well I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas
and New Years.

How wonderful to locate your web page! It shows what teamwork can do! Nice features. My husband is working on developing a web page for our new church in Texas.
My name is Janice Allen Miller. I last visited your church in 2005 when my dad was in and out of the emergency room because of falling. I gave the 24/7 care my dad needed for 70 days of that summer with my mom, Leona Allen and dad in Whittier. You had asked me then if my mom wanted a visit from you. She did not. She was in early stages of Alzhiemer's Disease as was my father. Leona was afraid of people coming into her home of 53 years and seeing her at less than her usual best. Leona Allen recently passed away June 6, 2008. She was a member and attended Faith Lutheran Church for 50 years until her illnesses kept her homebound. A funeral folder will be sent to Faith Lutheran. Perhaps someone there will remember her. I believe you visited Leona at Walnut Villa Senior Care in 2005 or 2006. You asked her if she wanted to take communion and she did not. Alzheimer's Disease is a thief. Please forgive her. for  her lack  of  interest. She took communion  her whole life  up until  then.
It was so good to go back to the familiar church of my childhood that summer of 2005  I started going in 1952 with my mother and dad when church was in the origianl smaller church. I was there when the larger sanctuary was built and through the building of the school. Oh how I wanted to attend your school! It put a seed in my heart for Christian education. I never went to a Christian school. It cost too much my mom said. Later as I had 3 children, God opened the door to help start 2 Christian schools, one in Keller, Texas and later in Gatesville, TX. Two of my own children attended preK to 4th. They were all "homeschooled" in the Bible by a passionate mother who loved God's word and hid it in her children's hearts daily.
In my mother's memory, I will be sending a tithe check from her Thrivent Life Insurance policy that was just deposited into my checking account. Glad to have the address now from this website.
God bless you and keep all of you!
Sincerely,
"Jan" Allen Miller

Hello: I attended Faith Luthran in the 70's and would like to ask if anyone has an email address or phone number for either Martin Marty or Kirk Gordon?

Steven Klingenberg, Wed Dec 26 2007, 04:44pm

I attended Faith Lutheran Church in the 1970's and became a confirmed member then.  I later moved to Tehachapi, CA where I live now.  I really liked the website and appreciate that I can visit it form time-to-time!  Can anyone tell me what ever happened to Pastor Kollmeyer?  He was my Pastor back then.  Thanks, Steve  email: kagel@dslextreme.com

Great job

Harry Cypher is a remarkable man.  He saw the potential in my daughter when nobody else was able to recognize it.  He watched over her and pushed her to succeed, which she did.  She is now a successful and self-assured adult, thanks to Mr. Cypher.  Good, sensative teachers make a difference in the lives of the children they teach.  Unfortunately, they are not always able to see what type of adults these children have become.  That is the reason I am writing this.  I want to thank Mr. Cypher for all he did on behalf of my daughter, Lori.  Every school should have a Harry Cypher.

Thank you and God Bless,

Sylvia DiDomenico

I had a grade school teacher that left a big impact on my life and it's because of him that I have been able to get to where I am today.  The person that I have to thank for that is Mr. Cypher.  He was one of the few people that had faith in me and because of that he pushed me hard during the last few years of grade school.  I was young at the time so I of course thought he was picking on me but in the end he prepared me for something that no one else could've.  I am now a successful sales manager within an upscale hotel and can't thank him enough for everything.

Hello,

Faith Lutheran School is a good School  to go to.

Katherine Stumpf,Lentsch, Tue Jun 26 2007, 04:07pm

I'm so glad to see your web site!  Especially the school. I am an alumni of the first graduating class of Faith Whittier!!!! When the school opened I was in fourth grade!  Oh what memories. I see the playground is in the same location as are the teatherball and basketball courts.  I remember many skinned knees playing on that basketball court.  Thanks to the influence of my former teachers Mr. Uecker and Mr Cattau, I too am a Lutheran teacher currently teaching first grade at Emmanuel Lutheran in Catonsville(Baltimore) Maryland.  My dad,Bob, will also enjoy seeing the photo gallery.  The Fixes and the Stumpfs were and are great friends. God's Blessings to you all.
